Last fall my sister died in Northampton, where she had lived happily since the 1980s. As her heir I found myself to be the owner of her home. I live in Arizona and could not take physical charge of the property: I needed to sell it.I hired a local attorney, Ms. Mary Melnik-Penney, to represent me in the probate of my sister's estate. Ms. Penney recommended that I use Jeanne as realtor. I am very glad that I followed her advice.From the first I was struck by Jeanne's friendly, open manner. The house needed quite a bit of work to make it ready for sale. Jeanne gave me the name of Robert Ross of Ross Brothers, who did an excellent job with the property at a very reasonable price.Once the house was ready, Jeanne moved quickly to prepare the listing, which included numerous photos and a well-crafted description of the property. She had a firm offer within a few days. The sale closed last week and I am very happy with the result. The buyers intend to restore the house, so it will not be lost. I know that was my sister's wish.The property itself was not very valuable. It was certainly not a big item for Jeanne. But she never made me feel that I was wasting her time. I once said something to her about my sister's house being a low-ticket item. She responded, "They are all special to me."
